Stand-Up Paddleboarding (SUP) in Charleston
Stand-up paddleboarding is one of the easiest ways to get out on the water around Charleston. You stand on a wide, stable board and use a single paddle to move along, and the sheltered tidal creeks of the Lowcountry make it especially beginner-friendly.
The one thing to plan around is the tide. Most local water rises and falls through the day, so a calm creek is easiest near high water. Shem Creek in Mount Pleasant is the best-known local spot, where dolphins are a regular sight.
